Child Right’s Day
The NSS Unit of the college celebrated the “World Right’s Day” on 20th November, 2024 in the college. Shri Sharatkumar Darabare, assistant professor of the college spoke on the theme for “World Children’s Day” 2024 was “Listen to the Future. Stand Up for Children’s Rights”. He emphasizes that, children are at the heart of humanity, embodying hope, joy, and a vision for a brighter tomorrow. World Children’s Day is a time to celebrate their unique qualities and to reaffirm our commitment to fostering a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
He called the students the day serves as a reminder of the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which defines the fundamental rights of every child. Children should be empowered to voice their opinions about the world they want to live in, and it’s all of our responsibility to listen and support their visions.
Further, he explained the theme emphasized the importance of prioritizing children’s rights, health, and well-being, and amplifying their voices and he encouraged the students to share their visions for the future and adults to listen and incorporate those perspectives into decisions that will shape the future.
All the students were present in the programme and the programme was coordinated by Dr. C. B. Ranagattimath, NSS Programme Officer of the college.
