World No Tobacco Day
The NSS and Youth Red Cross Units of the College has organized “World No Tobacco Day” on 31st May, 2024. Dr. Venkatesh Rathod, District Surveillance officer, department of health & family welfare, gadag district was the Chief Guest of the programme. In his address he spoke on smoking is one of the leading causes of preventable deaths worldwide, its effects are far-reaching and devastating and not only does it harm the smoker, but also those around them, including family, friends, and co-workers.
Further In his address he highlighted first and foremost, quitting smoking improves our health. Smoking causes a range of health problems, including lung cancer, heart disease, stroke, and respiratory illnesses.
Shri Jaihanuman K.K, Principal spoke in his presidential address that, finally, quitting smoking is a responsible choice that can help protect the health of those around us and second-hand smoke can cause a range of health problems, particularly for children and non-smokers.
The programme commenced with invocation song by Mr Basavaraj Karadi, 3rd Year student. Dr. C. B. Ranagattimath, Programme officer of NSS and Youth Red Cross Unit introduced the Chief Guest and welcomed the gathering. Dr. Vijay V. Muradande, IQAC Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. Miss Mukta Hadapad, 3rd year LL.B student was the master of ceremony.
