WORLD CANCER DAY


Gadag: Youth Red Cross Wing of K.L.E. Society’s S. A. Manvi Law College, Gadag organized “World Cancer Day” in association with Gadag District Health and Family Welfare Department on 4th February, 2023. Dr. Amrut Haridas, Medical Officer, Primary Health Center, Gadag was the resource person. In his address he advised staff and students that, there is a suitable treatment for the cancer disease; hence there is no reason to panic. By getting treatment from expert doctors, one can live like a normal person for a long time due to the advanced treatment and medicine.

Cancer can be diagnosed by the medical examination in earliest; hence, should not be neglected. Now a day’s more cancer patients cured than heart disease patients and they all are living a comfortable life.  He said that once a year medical test should be done compulsorily as there is a possibility of cancer appearing again.

Dr. S. R. Patil, Principal spoke in his presidential remarks that, World Cancer Day is being observed from 2022 to 2024 through the theme of Close the Care Gap among the people. During this three years period, the aim is to create awareness about cancer and bring about its treatment to cancer patients by eliminating global disparities.

Further, he explained that, consumption of  tobacco, Smoking, alcohol, poor diet, lack of vitamins A and C and increased the use of chemicals in food, increased stress and hormonal imbalances due to changed lifestyles and exposure to excessive alpha-violet rays of the sun and other radiating substances are the reasons to invite cancer.

Dr. Vijay V. Muradande, Assistant Professor welcomed and introduced the resource person. Shri S. T. Murashillin, Assistant Professor proposed the vote of thanks. Miss Chaitra Goudar, student of 1st year LL.B. was the master of ceremony. All teaching, Non-teaching and students were present.
